About our workshops
Workshops by Portals to the Past are either a one- or a two-person show and can cater for anything from 10 to 150 pupils in a day. While all workshops are different, we typically limit KS1 workshops to a part-day session, while KS2 and KS3 workshops are usually a full day.
What to expect
The days begin with an introductory talk, and progress through a series of activities, games, and quizzes for the pupils to take part in. We typically save the most exciting stuff for the afternoons… weapons, armour, mummification, fossils, murder mysteries… and try to the end the day with something big and spectacular such as a re-enactment or battle to ensure pupils finish the day buzzing with excitement!
Bookings throughout the year
We take bookings throughout the year and cover most areas of the UK (please note, travel limitations mean not all workshops are available in every area). Workshops are usually booked one term in advance, please contact us for details. We will tailor the order and content of workshops to suit school facilities, timetables, and any health and safety concerns.
