KS2 HENRY VIII, HIS WIVES AND COURT LIFE WORKSHOP

With Sir John Pilkington

The day would start with a short talk, involving a display of Tudor weapons and Armour, starting at the battle of Bosworth, why Henry was never expected to be King, Arthur and Katherine, marriage to Katherine and why Henry was a true renaissance prince.

First three wives

Morning Activities would include-:
Learn the Pavan, importance of music and dance at court and Henry’s love of  Masques.

Second three wives.

Wolsey, Cromwell and Thomas More.

 

The afternoon:

Court Hierarchy. The households, household officers.
Why it was important to buy Henry expensive gifts at Christmas. The importance of Will Somers within Henry court. (this can be before lunch if it's a long morning)

Leading to:

Jousting game, Henry’s favourite sport.

Dance the pavane to finish the day
