A fascinating and immersive day, where the children are transported back to the late 1880s to experience life in Victorian England.
The day starts with an introductory discussion that covers changes that occurred during Queen Victoria’s long reign, the expanding British Empire and Britain’s role in global trade.
This is followed by a number of activities for the children to take part in, such as:
- Learning how to behave and dance at a Victorian ball
- Artefacts from the time to touch and hold
- Experiencing a lesson with a Victorian teacher
- Quiz boards
The afternoon is devoted to solving a murder mystery, where pupils help detectives from the newly formed from Scotland Yard to track a notorious killer in the Whitechapel area of London.
